I decided to chronicle my training for the 2010 Marathon des Sables. Rather than bore people to tears with details of my fitness regime and search for sand-proof socks –- it turns out there are plenty of blogs along those lines –- this one was intended to help maintain my interest in training over 2009, whilst providing no entertainment or useful information to others. It also turned into a catalogue of London's fine animal adornments.
